When the Moon Reflects Your True Face
Every Full Moon is a moment of completion, but some Full Moons come with a deeper spiritual assignment. They do not simply close a chapter; they question the story you have been living. The Full Moon on 1st February 2026, rising in the royal sign of Leo, is one such moment. It does not work on emotions alone. It works on identity.
This Moon does not ask, “How do you feel?”
It asks, “Who have you become?”
Many of us walk through life wearing identities we never consciously chose. We become the obedient one, the strong one, the silent one, the invisible one, the responsible one. Over time, these roles feel like personality, but in truth, they were only survival strategies. This Full Moon arrives to gently yet firmly illuminate these borrowed selves and invite us to release them.
This is not about becoming someone new.
This is about burning what you were never meant to be.
What a Full Moon Truly Represents
Spiritually, the Full Moon is the peak of awareness. It is the time when hidden things come into the light and unfinished emotional business demands closure. That is why people often feel restless, emotional, or unusually reflective during Full Moons.
A Full Moon signifies:
- completion of a cycle
- illumination of unconscious patterns
- emotional and mental clarity
- release and closure
- readiness for transformation
When the Moon becomes full, it mirrors your inner world. Whatever you have been avoiding, suppressing, or ignoring quietly begins to speak.
Under a Leo Full Moon, this awareness does not go to wounds alone – it goes to self-image. The universe asks you to examine not what you feel, but who you think you are.
🦁 Leo Energy: The Fire of Identity

Leo is ruled by the Sun, the center of light and life. It represents the heart – not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Leo governs confidence, creativity, leadership, joy, and the courage to be visible.
At its highest expression, Leo energy says:
- I exist fully.
- I express myself freely.
- I allow myself to shine.
- I live from my heart.
Astrologically, Leo rules the 5th house, which governs:
- self-expression
- creativity
- romance
- recognition
- inner child
- the desire to be seen and appreciated
So when a Full Moon occurs in Leo, our relationship with confidence and self-worth comes under the cosmic spotlight.
You may experience:
- sudden self-doubt or sudden confidence
- sensitivity to criticism
- craving for validation
- feeling invisible or overly reactive
- questioning how others see you
These experiences are not problems. They are messages. They reveal where your identity has become fragile or false.
What Do We Mean by “Old Identity”?
Identity is not just your name or profession. Identity is the internal story you tell yourself about who you are.
It includes:
- how you talk to yourself
- what you believe about your worth
- the labels you accepted from others
- the roles you played to be loved
- the masks you wore to feel safe
Most identities are not chosen consciously. They are learned through experiences.
For example, a child who is repeatedly told to be quiet may grow into an adult who believes their voice is not important. A person criticised for their appearance may slowly adopt the belief that they are not attractive. A child who had to emotionally support others may grow into an adult who feels guilty for having needs.
These identities were once protection. But what protects a child often imprisons the adult.
Under this Full Moon, we release what we learned – not who we truly are.
Why This Full Moon Can Feel Uncomfortable

Many people report feeling unusually sensitive, restless, or unsure of themselves during Leo Full Moons. This happens because identity is being questioned.
Thoughts that may arise include:
- “I am not good enough.”
- “I always stay in the background.”
- “People don’t take me seriously.”
- “I am afraid to be seen.”
Sometimes release feels heavy because we are carrying years of emotional conditioning in our energy field. During a Leo Full Moon, the heart and solar plexus become especially sensitive. This is where crystals can act as gentle emotional companions — not as magic, but as reminders of your own strength and self-worth.
Crystals that support identity healing and confidence during this Full Moon include:
- Citrine – to awaken self-belief and courage
- Tiger’s Eye – to dissolve fear and strengthen willpower
- Sunstone – to activate joy and leadership energy
- Rose Quartz – to heal self-criticism and nurture self-love
You may keep one crystal near your heart during the ritual or place it beside your candle while burning old identities.

Purpose of the Burn the Old Identity Ritual
This ritual is not about manifesting something new. It is about releasing what is false.
The purpose is to let go of:
- old self-images
- inherited labels
- ego-based roles
- fear-driven identities
- self-criticism and confidence blocks
Why fire?
Because:
- Leo is a fire sign
- fire transforms instantly
- fire purifies identity
- fire turns the past into light
You cannot step into your true power while holding on to who you were taught to be.
Fire-Based Cleansing Before the Ritual
Before beginning the ritual, cleanse your energy and space using a fire element. You may choose:
- diya
- candle
- incense stick
- dhoop
- camphor
Move the flame gently in an anti-clockwise direction around:
- your body
- your aura
- your room or ritual space
As you do this, say slowly and consciously:
“I cleanse my aura and this space.
I release old identities and false self-images.
I step into clarity, confidence, and truth.”
Sit quietly for a few moments and allow your breath to settle.
Step 1: Writing the Old Identities
Take a plain paper and divide it into 6 or 7 sections. In each section, write one identity you are ready to release.
Examples:
- I am not confident.
- I am invisible.
- I am not worthy of praise.
- I must stay small.
- I am afraid to speak.
- I am always judged.
Do not write stories.
Do not justify them.
Write only the statement.
Truth does not need explanation.
Step 2: Crossing the Identity
Cross each sentence boldly with a ❌.
As you do so, say silently:
“This identity no longer belongs to me.”
This is a psychological and energetic act of closure.
Step 3: Burning the Old Identity
Light your candle or diya. Hold the paper safely and burn it slowly.
As the paper burns, say:
“I release these identities with awareness.
I no longer carry false versions of myself.
I allow my true self to emerge.”
Watch the fire calmly. Let the ashes fall. Feel the lightness in your chest.
Step 4: Leo Power Affirmation
Place your right hand on your heart and say aloud:
“I stand in my power.
I allow myself to be seen.
I embrace confidence, courage, and self-respect.
I am the main character of my life.
I lead with heart, truth, and authenticity.”
Take three deep breaths.
Stepping Into Your New Identity
Nature never leaves a space empty. After release comes creation.
This is not about pressure. It is about choice.
Journal on these prompts:
- If I stopped living for approval, who would I naturally become?
- When do I feel most alive and confident?
- What qualities make me feel proud and peaceful at the same time?
- If fear was not in control, what identity would I choose now?
Underline one identity that feels light, truthful, and heart-aligned.
Examples:
- I am confident and expressive.
- I allow myself to shine.
- I live with courage and joy.
- I respect myself deeply.
Preparing for the New Moon
On the next New Moon, write this new identity on a fresh page.
You may:
- paste it in your journal
- place it on your vision board
- stick it on your mirror
- decorate it with colours or symbols
This is how identity changes – not overnight, but consciously.
If this ritual resonates with you, know that this is just one doorway into deeper Full Moon work.

Closing Message
This Full Moon is not about becoming someone else. It is about remembering who you were before fear shaped you.
Leo teaches us that true confidence comes from authenticity, not approval. When you stop hiding and start honouring your heart, your life naturally becomes brighter.
Allow the fire to free you.
Allow yourself to become.
Allow yourself to shine – without guilt.
With love and light,
Dr. Neeti Kaushik
