Welcome to this heartfelt space where I share my experiences, struggles, and lessons learned. Let me start with a confession—there are days when I wake up feeling anything but energetic. Despite having a loving family, a fulfilling career, and a sense of purpose, some mornings feel heavy, like I’m carrying the weight of the world. And then there are days when I wake up feeling invincible, ready to conquer anything that comes my way. What’s the difference? It took me years of trial and error to figure out how to protect my energy and stay positive. Today, I want to share this journey with you.
If you’ve ever felt drained, overwhelmed, or stuck in a negative loop, this is for you. Together, let’s explore how to preserve that precious morning energy, avoid common pitfalls, and fill our days with positivity.
My Story: From Chaos to Calm
There was a time when my mornings were chaotic, especially during my years as a school principal. The moment I opened my eyes, my mind would be racing. I’d grab my phone and dive straight into emails, messages, and social media notifications, often with half a mind on the challenges waiting at school. Did I ensure substitute teachers were arranged for those on leave? Were all the preparations for upcoming school events, teacher-parent meetings, and assemblies in place? Had I communicated everything clearly to my staff? The mental checklist felt endless.
Amid all this, I was also juggling responsibilities at home. I had to ensure my husband and son had their breakfast and that my son’s lunchbox was packed. As I rushed through the morning routine, I often realized I hadn’t even had a peaceful moment with my cup of tea, and with this, I’d leave the house feeling frazzled, already running on empty.
I’d carry this negative energy throughout the day. Small irritations, like a slow driver or a delayed meeting, would feel monumental. I’d snap at people, feel guilty about it later, and end the day completely drained, wondering where it all went wrong.
This pattern repeated until I realized something needed to change. I wasn’t just depleting my own energy; I was also affecting the people around me. I began to experiment with my mornings, my habits, and my mindset. Over time, I discovered small but powerful changes that transformed my life.
Morning Magic: Setting the Tone for the Day
Let’s talk about the first hour of your day—it’s sacred. Imagine waking up with a fully charged battery, a gift from the universe. How you use that first hour determines whether your energy will last or deplete quickly.
1. The Social Media Trap
One of the biggest mistakes I made was checking my phone first thing in the morning. It’s like handing over the control of your energy to the world before you’ve even centered yourself. Now, I make it a point to avoid screens for the first hour. Instead:
- I play calming music or chants that uplift my spirit.
- I spend a few minutes meditating to ground myself and connect with my intentions.
2. Affirmations and Gratitude
Before I even step out of bed, I take a moment to remind myself:
“Today is a gift. I am strong, capable, and ready to make it beautiful.”
This simple act of gratitude sets a positive tone for my day. Over time, I’ve also added affirmations to my routine, which I now listen to every morning. These affirmations have been life-changing, and after many requests, I shared them in a video.
I encourage you to listen to it and incorporate it into your mornings. A few positive words can truly work wonders—try it and see the magic unfold!

3. Incorporating Crystals in My Morning Routine
Crystals like Aquamarine have been a source of calmness, especially during the full moon and new moon phases when my emotions tend to feel unbalanced.
Similarly, Amethyst have brought me clarity and focus, helping me stay grounded and centered throughout the day.
Whether you meditate with crystals, keep them nearby, or simply hold them as you set your intentions, their energy can amplify your morning practice. They’ve played a significant role in my journey, and I highly recommend exploring them to see how they resonate with you.
How Negativity Drains Us (And How to Stop It)
Let’s be honest—life is unpredictable. You wake up late, can’t find your belongings, and before you know it, you’re snapping at everyone around you. It’s happened to me more times than I’d like to admit. But here’s what I’ve learned:
Negative energy is contagious. If you start your day with complaints and frustrations, it snowballs into more negativity.
How to Break the Cycle
- Pause and Breathe: The next time something goes wrong, take a deep breath. Instead of reacting, ask yourself, “Is this worth my peace?”
- Positive Self-Talk: When I’m overwhelmed, I remind myself:
“You’ve handled tough days before. You can handle this too.”
Mid-Morning Energy Slump: Why It Happens and How to Beat It
Around midmorning, our energy naturally dips. For years, I thought this was normal. But I realized that small habits, like what I eat or how I think, play a huge role.
1. Mindful Eating
Packaged snacks were my go-to during busy mornings. They’re convenient but come at a cost—processed foods drain energy and create mood swings. Now, I stick to fresh, whole foods that nourish my body.
- Tip: Think of food as fuel. Choose options that support your energy rather than deplete it.
2. Emotional Deposits
Here’s an analogy that changed my perspective:
Every positive thought, kind word, or act of gratitude is a deposit into your emotional bank account. Every complaint, argument, or negative thought is a withdrawal. The goal is to end the day with a positive balance.
Another helpful habit I’ve incorporated is wearing my Clear Quartz crystal. It helps me stay energized and focused, carrying me through the day with positive vibrations.
The Mental Drama We Create
Have you ever caught yourself replaying a conversation in your head, thinking about what you should have said? Or worrying endlessly about something that hasn’t even happened yet? Our minds are experts at creating drama. I’ve been there too—reliving past mistakes or worrying about future events.
How to Quiet the Mind
- Meditation: Even 5-10 minutes of mindfulness can bring you back to the present moment.
To help you with meditation, I’ve created an Meditation audio course that guides you step by step. If you’re looking to dive deeper into the practice, you can join the course and experience the transformative power of meditation.
- Be Present: When I’m with loved ones or enjoying nature, I remind myself to be fully there. The past is gone, and the future isn’t here yet.
Evening Routine: Preparing for a Better Tomorrow
How you end your day is just as important as how you start it. For years, I stayed up late, scrolling through social media or binge-watching shows. I’d wake up tired and irritable, starting the cycle all over again. Now, my evenings look different.
1. Disconnect from Screens
I avoid screens at least 30 minutes before bed. Instead, I journal, reflect on the day, and express gratitude for what went well.
2. Visualize Tomorrow
Before sleeping, I spend a few minutes visualizing my goals for the next day. I imagine waking up refreshed, tackling my tasks with ease, and ending the day feeling accomplished.
Earlier, I had a habit of deciding what to wear in the morning, which often led to unnecessary stress and wasted time. Now, I choose and set aside my clothes the night before, ensuring a smoother start to the day.
Additionally, I’ve made it a practice to create a to-do list before going to bed. This simple step helps me stay clear and focused on my priorities for the next day, ensuring I wake up with purpose and direction. These small changes have added so much convenience and peace to my mornings, making my day feel more structured and productive!
Understanding ‘Namaskar’: A Daily Reminder
One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned is the meaning of Namaskar. It’s more than a greeting—it’s an acknowledgment of the divine within each of us. When I say Namaskar, I remind myself to see the good in others and approach every interaction with respect and kindness.
Small Steps, Big Changes
If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s this: change doesn’t happen overnight. Whether it’s waking up earlier, eating healthier, or managing your thoughts, the key is to start small. Focus on one habit at a time, and celebrate your progress along the way.
To all of you who’ve supported me and shared your stories—thank you. Your encouragement keeps me going. Let’s continue this journey together, lifting each other up and staying positive no matter what life throws at us.
With love and light,
Dr. Neeti Kaushik
Anjali Chowdhury
Hi, I’m Anjali. 21 yrs old now. All my life I’ve felt like my life was stuck in an eternal winter, like I barely witnessed progress in any field as a kid and teen.(My ruling planet is Saturn btw) So since lockdown when I got extra time from academics, I’ve been trying to figure out how to improve my life, skills and witness, if possible, even a little bit of progress, tried to learn and understand everything that could help me in this regard. But the thing is I was highly sceptical about everything and anything I read or heard, nothing seemed promising to me, for some reason. Finally it took me 4 years to trust that all this suggestions written here really works. Just the most important element is ‘Time’. It takes time. Learning compound interest and neuroscience, better say understanding it properly, in-depth help me understand what was missing. Thanks to you and everyone who are persistent with their work, it inspires me to do and be the same.
Thanks.
